TED Kocaeli High School /Turkey

Joy at TED Kocaeli High School, created by their friends from Goyang Global High School!!!

The students at TED KOCAELI HIGH SCHOOL were  delighted to receive the gift box that was sent by a group of students from Goyang Global High School. They were extremely curious as they opened the contents of the box and expressed their joy as they discovered the different items which all represented an element of the culture and tradition of  the country itself. It was clear that all the gift items were all chosen with care and purpose.  Furthermore, the students at TED Kocaeli College were overjoyed as they read the postcards written by their friends. We surely believe that the cooperation between the two schools  that started three years ago has more years to come, despite the distance between them. This unique project is the result of  successful collaboration and a long lasting friendship.

Foreign culture festival

Hello! We are SCOPE, the global issue club in Goyang Global High School.

On May 30th, We held an foreign culture festival in our school. Several clubs hosted booths with their respective themes. Scopes from the International Task Force hosted a booth named “Walking Tour to Turkey” under the theme of Turkish culture. Memorizing of Turkish numbers were memorized, the Turkish culture quiz, the making of Don Dourma, and the expression of Turkish language in body movements were divided into four cities – Antaly, Kashmir, Ankara and Istanbul – to suit the characteristics. It gave students an opportunity to know what the Turkey is.

SCOPE’s big event, a club festival

A club festival was held at Goyang Global High School on Sept. 28-29, 2019. In GGHS, 28 clubs are divided into exhibition and performance clubs. In this event, all clubs prepared the big event based on what we’ve been doing for a year. In the “Scope,” an international issue-exploration club, the booth was set up under the theme of “UN.” The name of the booth is ‘Welcome to gg’un.’ UNESCO, WTO, UNEP, UNHCR, and ICJ international organizations were operated by small game booth. The UNHCR was able to experience the position of refugees through a game using a hole in the conical hat. In the WTO-themed game booth, people could experience the value of “cooperation” through a game that allows them to tie their ankles and run. Friend the Member for Scope Booth said it was a good experience to get to know several international organizations.

Special experience with TED KOCAELI HIGHSCHOOL

Scope held international exchanges with Turkey in April. We had time to write several articles and change them with Turkish schools on various subjects. The topic of the article was the environment, school life, and the relationship between Korea and Turkey in the 1950s. Twelve members of the club divided into three teams and wrote articles. Turkish students interacted by reading our articles and writing new articles on the same subject. School life, education, and student human rights issues in each country and relations between Korea and Turkey in the 1950s were the topics. We tried to find, organize, and complete high-quality writing. The article that came in reply was very informative and interesting, so all the members of the scope were this activity. We hope that we will have another meaningful experience soon.

Welcome to SCOPE in GGHS!

Hello, my friends!
We are SCOPE, the global issue club in Goyang Global High School.
We explore the social and economic events that have recently become an issue in the world, and we learn how to solve them. We are also interested in the international organizations in the world who are acting as mediators in those situations, and we are also trying to follow them.

This blog will introduce you to the activities we’ve been doing so far in 2019: managing a Turkish cultural experience booth and activities in school club festival. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments!
There are 12 members in our club now. We expect to be able to work with you to solve world problems through the communication with people from all oer the world. I hope to spend a lot of meaningful time with you on Edublog 🙂
